Dr. Barnard is the owner and lead veterinarian of Belleview West Animal Hospital and has been caring for pets and their families since January 1998. He completed both his undergraduate studies and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri. After graduating, he practiced at Caring Hearts Animal Hospital in Mesa, Arizona, before returning to Colorado to join Belleview West, where he has built a long-standing and trusted presence in the community.
Dr. Barnard’s passion for animal care began early in life while growing up on a family farm in northwest Missouri, where his family raised Charolais cattle and boarded horses. Those experiences shaped his deep appreciation for the responsibility and compassion required to be a caretaker for animals of all kinds.
He and his wife, Natalie, share their home with two Golden Doodles, Roo and Finley. Roo serves as a working emotional support dog, visiting a local high school, a rehabilitation facility in Parker, and Denver International Airport to help calm stressed students, patients, and travelers. Finley enjoys life as a beloved house companion who loves walks in open spaces and wrestling with her sister. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Barnard enjoys spending time in the mountains, skiing, traveling, and visiting his children.
