Dr. Caroline Merchant is a dedicated veterinarian at Belleview West Animal Hospital, where she has been committed to providing exceptional care since 2009. A graduate of the University of California, Davis, with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, she earned her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Dr. Merchant initially gained valuable experience at an emergency veterinary hospital in Pittsburgh before broadening her expertise in both California and Colorado, focusing on small animal practices.
Inspired by her grandfather’s work in veterinary medicine, Dr. Merchant found her calling in animal care at an early age. Her passion for fostering personal bonds between pets and their families led her to specialize in small animal care. Beyond her professional life, she enjoys the companionship of her Golden Retriever puppy, Birdie, and her orange tabby cat, Flynn.
In her leisure time, Dr. Merchant, alongside her husband and three children, cherishes camping trips, often accompanied by her pets. She is also actively involved in her Methodist church community and takes part in organizing annual group camping trips. Dr. Merchant is an advocate for sustainable living, enjoying activities such as home canning and participating in a local organic farm CSA.
